What the Deposit Is A **$100 discovery deposit** reserves Amanda Burnswell’s time for: - A discovery call; and - The written proposal that follows. The deposit is credited in full toward the project total if the client moves forward. It is not a fee for design work, and it does not purchase deliverables on its own. ## 2. The Deposit Is Non-Refundable **The discovery deposit is non-refundable.** The deposit reserves a block of studio time and starts the work of understanding the project, scoping the services, pricing the work, and preparing a written proposal. That time is spent whether or not the project proceeds. If the client moves forward, the full $100 deposit is credited toward the project total. A client who proceeds with a project is therefore not charged the deposit in addition to the project price. The only exception is if Brand Name Nerd is unable to schedule or deliver the discovery session. In that case, Brand Name Nerd will refund the deposit in full. ## 3. The Deposit Expires in 60 Days The discovery deposit must be used within **60 days of the date of purchase**. If the discovery session has not been booked within 60 days, the deposit expires and is forfeited. A new discovery deposit is required to begin again. Brand Name Nerd will email the client a reminder before the deposit expires. The reminder is a courtesy and does not extend the expiry date. ## 4. Booking and Rescheduling The booking link to schedule the discovery session is provided with the payment receipt. The client may reschedule the discovery session once if they provide at least 24 hours’ notice. To reschedule, reply to the payment receipt or email [**hi@brandnamenerd.com**](mailto:hi@brandnamenerd.com). A session missed without at least 24 hours’ notice is forfeited. The deposit will not be refunded or used to book another session without a new deposit. ## 5. What Happens After Discovery After the discovery session, Brand Name Nerd sends a written proposal outlining: - Scope; - Deliverables; - Timeline; and - Pricing. No hard quote is given during the discovery call. Pricing is confirmed in writing in the proposal. The **50% project deposit** is separate from the discovery deposit. The project deposit reserves production time after the client accepts the proposal and is required before project work begins. Proposals are valid for **30 days** unless the proposal states otherwise. ## 6. Crediting the Deposit If the client proceeds with a project, the $100 discovery deposit is applied to the project total and shown as a credit on the first project invoice. If the client does not proceed: - The deposit is not refunded; - The deposit is not transferable to another person or business; and - The deposit is not convertible into credit for other Brand Name Nerd services. ## 7. Sales Tax and Currency All prices are in U.S. dollars. Brand Name Nerd collects applicable sales tax where required. ## 8. Scope of These Terms This deposit covers the discovery call and the written proposal only. The deposit does not include design, branding, copywriting, web development, technical setup, consulting beyond the discovery session, or other project deliverables. The project itself is governed by the project or services agreement issued by Brand Name Nerd for that engagement. ## 9. AI Use Brand Assets may not be used with AI Tools except under an Approved AI Workflow as set out in the [AI and Your Brand Assets](https://brandnamenerd.com/ai-and-your-brand-assets?hsLang=en) page. The AI terms are attached to Brand Name Nerd’s project agreements. They do not grant permission to use Brand Assets with AI Tools unless the parties agree to an Approved AI Workflow in writing. ## 10. Which Version Applies These terms match the terms shown at checkout. If these terms and the version shown at checkout ever differ, the version shown at checkout governs the purchase.
